HENKI (du finnois : “Esprit, âme”) est une immersion dans une forêt onirique où les inspirations du Kalevala — mythologie finlandaise — et des Yōkai japonais se mêlent avec la vision personnelle d’Eela Laitinen de la forêt. À travers des peintures, installations et performances in situ, Eela Laitinen explore la forêt non seulement comme un espace physique, mais aussi comme un être vivant, un lieu d’écoute et de transformation. La forêt devient ainsi sujet, partenaire et cadre de création.
Les œuvres utilisent diverses techniques et matières : illustrations à l’encre de Chine, aquarelle, gouache, masques en papier mâché, œuvres textiles et land art.

HENKI (from Finnish: ‘Spirit, soul’) is an immersion in a dreamlike forest where inspirations from the Kalevala - Finnish mythology - and Japanese Yōkai merge with Eela Laitinen’s personal visions.
Through paintings, installations and site-specific performances, Eela Laitinen explores the forest not only as a physical space, but also as a living being, a place for listening and transformation. The forest becomes a subject, a partner and a framework for creation.She uses a variety of techniques and materials: illustrations in Indian ink, watercolour, gouache, papier-mâché masks, textiles and land art.
